Il Pievano 

Il Pievano is home to the cuisine of chef Antonio Iacoviello. Situated within the historic Castello di Spaltenna, in the Chianti hills, the restaurant earned its Michelin star in 2017. Within the 11th century fortified monastery, Chef Iacoviello designs menus that reflect his deep reverence for Italian produce and culinary traditions, while drawing on the refined techniques he mastered during his years in Tokyo.


Wine pairings are tailor made by Il Pievano’s sommelier, Elisabetta Urgelli, who draws from a wine list that is dedicated predominantly to Italian wines, with particular attention given to Tuscany, Piedmont, Lombardy and Veneto. In keeping with the location, Chianti wines have a special place thanks to the house label, “Vini del Castello di Spaltenna”, crafted in collaboration with local winemakers.
