Legado

Legado is the legacy of Chef Nieves Barragán Mohacho, a restaurant that tells the story of Spain through its regions, traditions, and ingredients. Rooted in authenticity yet reimagined for London, Legado is inspired by the craftsmanship of Spanish artisans and the memories of Nieves’s own life between Spain and the UK. At its heart lie two hand-built wood-fired ovens, crafted in situ by Spanish specialists, glowing with the flames that bring to life Spain’s most iconic dishes, Cordero Asado, roast lamb from Castilla y León, and Cochinillo, Segovia’s famous suckling pig. Guests enter through a vibrant taberna, a contemporary echo of Barcelona’s vaulted ceilings, alive with the buzz of a bar and deli at one end and a dramatic fish display at the other. From here, the space unfolds into a soaring double-height dining room, bathed in natural light by day and transformed by intimate beams of warmth in the evening. Exposed London Stock brick, terracotta floors, sage green tiles, and plaster-pink accents create a setting that is both contemporary and timeless, where every detail speaks of craft and heritage. The menu reflects Nieves’s philosophy of respect, for farmers, fishermen, and artisans who shape Spain’s culinary traditions. From Zamora’s lamb and Segovia’s suckling pig to Extremadura’s Iberian ham and Galicia’s daily catch, provenance and seasonality are celebrated with precision and heart. Vegetables and seafood receive the same reverence as meat, from nostalgic dishes inspired by Nieves’s grandmother to vibrant interpretations of regional classics. Alongside, an extensive wine and sherry program highlights both established houses and new, artisanal voices, ensuring each meal tells its own story of place and time. More than just a restaurant, Legado is a living legacy: an experience of fire, flavour, and craftsmanship, where Spain’s culinary soul finds a home in London.
