BiBi & Friends: Chet Sharma x Mitsunobu Nagae

London, 4th of February - On Thursday, 5th of March, Chef Chet Sharma will host the fourth collaboration of the BiBi & Friends series, welcoming Chef Mitsunobu Nagae from Michelin-starred l'abeille in New York.

Chef Chet and Chef Mitsu first collaborated in summer 2025, when Chet was invited to take part in l'abeille’s ongoing Chef in Residence series. Finding a natural creative alignment through their shared precision and respect for ingredients, Chet has greatly looked forward to Mitsu taking part in his BiBi & Friends series in London ever since. The upcoming dinner marks the chef’s second time cooking together, and Mitsu’s first time cooking in London.

Located on a charming cobblestone corner in Manhattan’s Tribeca neighborhood, l'abeille focuses on French cuisine with Japanese influences. Its open kitchen highlights Mitsu’s calm and harmonious approach. Born in Osaka and trained in France as a disciple of Joël Robuchon, Mitsu has worked alongside numerous Michelin-starred chefs in Paris, Tokyo, and New York. Since its opening in 2022, l'abeille has combined the warmth of bistro cooking with the refinement of haute cuisine.

The menu will play on the intriguing connection of Indian and French-Japanese cuisines, finding hidden similarities and playing on contrasting flavour profiles and mouthfeels. Mitsu will draw on local produce, making the most of the British larder while in town, and with Chet and his team embracing the inspirations coming from reimagining the counter restaurant flow for another for dynamic pairing.

Dishes will include Ajwaini Scallop and Lamb Barra Kebab by BiBi, and Charcoal Grilled Turbot, Smoked Soy and Bone Marrow, Black Truffle by l'abeille. The collaborative menu will find harmony between Indian heat and Japanese delicacy, tied together by technically flawless execution.

Chet Sharma says: “I am so excited to welcome Chef Mitsu to London after our brilliant collaboration last summer. I found an elegance in his cooking that has stayed with me since we worked together, and I can’t wait for our guests to experience this.”

Mitsunobu Nagae adds: “London’s vibrant culinary scene has long held a deep attraction for me, and I can’t think of a better place to be welcomed to the city than at BiBi. I’m very pleased we will have an opportunity to continue what we began in New York.”

Sponsored by Krug, the dinner will be priced at £195 per person including a welcome drink, with an optional wine or non-alcoholic pairing also available on request.

Seats for the dinner are limited and will go live on 5th February via the BiBi newsletter, which you can subscribe to here.

About Chet Sharma & BiBi:

Raised in Berkshire, Chef Chet Sharma’s journey into kitchens was far from typical. Immersed in a world of two cultures, his maternal grandmother was from India and his paternal grandmother from London. Chet excelled academically at school and with a natural curiosity for science, he secured a place at UCL (University College London) to read Chemistry. His academic progress took him to a Master’s in Neurology at UCL followed by 2nd Master’s in Physics, and a DPhil in Condensed Matter Physics from The University of Oxford. At the same time, he threw DJ events to help fund his studies with a late-night residency at the Ministry of Sound in London. He also explored his love for cooking and embarked on a total of 16 stagiaires that lasted from 2005-2013, all the while continuing with his degrees. After a long period working as a research and development chef within some of the UK's most iconic restaurants; L’Enclume, Roganic, The French, Rogan & Co., his focus turned to developing his own culinary style. In September 2021, BiBi opened its doors to huge critical acclaim. Named after an affectionate term for grandmother in Urdu, Chet’s restaurant is simply an ode to the two women who helped inspire his career and elements of whose influence is now interlaced throughout his menus and the restaurant’s interiors.

About Maison Krug

Maison Krug was established in Reims in 1843 by Joseph Krug, a visionary non-conformist with an uncompromising philosophy. Having understood that the true essence of champagne is pleasure itself, his dream was to craft the very best champagne he could offer, every single year, regardless of annual climate variations. Paying close attention to the vineyard’s character, respecting the individuality of each plot and its wine, as well as building an extensive library of reserve wines from many different years, allowed Joseph Krug to fulfil his dream. Six generations of the Krug family have perpetuated this dream, enriching the founder’s vision and savoir-faire.
