Three Michelin-starred Zén, Singapore's acclaimed fine-dining and Asian sister restaurant to Stockholm's Frantzén, announces two key appointments to its leadership team.
Rachel Ezekiel (28) has been promoted to General Manager, bringing almost four years of dedicated service at Zén to her new role. A Singaporean graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in International Hotel & Tourism Management (Tourism Major) from the University of Queensland, Rachel gained over three years of international experience in Australia's hospitality sector at prestigious venues including The Westin and The Point in Brisbane.
Her exceptional service standards were recognized in 2024, when she was named Young Waiter of the Year (Singapore) at the Young Chef Young Waiter Young Mixologist competition. Prior to Zén, Rachel served as Captain at the Mirazur pop-up at Mandala Club in Singapore, where she refined her leadership skills and delivered immersive dining experiences.
Joining Rachel in this new chapter is Chef Kelvin Ng (黄启智) (31), who returns to Zén as Chef de Cuisine. Born into the industry, Kelvin's passion for cooking was nurtured from an
early age, when he began helping at his family's noodle stall at age 10. He now holds a Diploma in Culinary & Catering Management from Temasek Polytechnic (Class of 2015) and trained at the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) on a scholarship from the Singapore Institute of Technology.
Kelvin’s first overseas internship took him to Restaurant David Mollicone in southeastern France in 2015, followed by a year-long position as Chef de Partie at The Modern in New York under Chef Thomas Allen. After serving as a Teaching Assistant at the Culinary Institute of America during the pandemic, he joined Zén for the first time in November 2020. A brief tenure at Pineapple & Pearls in Washington D.C. followed, before returning home again to Zén in November 2024. He was promoted to Chef de Cuisine in September 2025.
Some of the chef’s current accolades include a Silver Medal at the FHA Culinary Challenge and a Gold Medal at the Philippine Culinary Cup, representing the Singapore Junior Culinary Team.
The appointments reflect Zén's commitment to nurturing local talent and maintaining the highest standards of culinary and service excellence, establishing the restaurant as a cornerstone of Singapore's fine dining scene.
